Alongside the approaching round of Iraq’s elections in November of this year, another round of distracting the people begins with the manufactured scenarios of the KDP and PUK to further delay the formation of government. In the latest official demand from the PUK , it has been revealed that they are requesting one of the positions of the two Barzanis cusion and several important ministries, which the KDP calls a red line and Barzani’s legacy. This leaves no doubt that it is their own arrangement rather than a serious demand from the PUK , which is beautiful as a deputy position, not a presidency! In short, until the formation of the tenth cabinet, much water will flow under the bridge for them, because they both engage each other in conflict for election time and gain more voters over the ballot boxes for their own interests, while also seeking another opportunity after the elections to strengthen each other’s demands at the negotiating table with the aim of obtaining the largest share of government cake and sweetness!
In reality, these two parties suffer no harm from the delay in forming the tenth cabinet because in most cases they regain the same positions they currently hold and exercise the same authorities they currently have, with even more power. The signing of the billion-dollar project by the KDP and PUK in Washington, the capital of America, in the field of gas production is the latest example of their unrestricted authority.
What falls upon the voters and people is to set a point of return and accountability for these parties, so that party leadership is no longer the center of decision-making for all the nation’s fateful decisions, but rather the people themselves and an effective parliament should decide who becomes king and who becomes a placeholder!
The nation’s weakness has always been that it does not apply the standard of reward and punishment toward the powerful and does not play the political game, so instead the parties implement this for their own benefit and that of their families and generations. This has made them very indifferent to whether there is a government and parliament or not, but they have even learned how to swim in muddy waters and flourish in corrupt markets.
