The government of rhetoric and distance from action.
Darko Ali – Activist
It is clear to all of us that the protests of teachers, citizens, and employees stem from the difficult living conditions that the people of Kurdistan and salary earners in the Kurdistan Region are enduring. Instead of listening to their voices and fulfilling their legitimate rights, the government resorts to threats, intimidation, and imprisonment.
This is evidence that the Kurdish government, dominated by two ruling families, has nothing to offer beyond media rhetorics, It responds to the rightful demands of the people of Kurdistan with imprisonment and threats rather than taking any real steps to improve their living conditions.
Not a single step is being taken to improve the livelihood of the people; instead, they are met only with empty words of gratitude. If anyone dares to ask their rights, they face brutal responses that put their lives at risk. The authorities believe that through repression, intimidation, threats, and even the killing of journalists and activists, they can silence dissent and maintain their grip on power—unaware that, day by day, their ruling power reaches to a breaking point.
