Beyond the life and struggle of Mama Risha, I want to talk about the goals of one of the prominent Kurdish leaders who struggled indefatigabley for the freedom and dignity of the Kurdish people. Sadly, after all those sacrifices, today we have arrived at this point.
In one of his interviews, Mama Risha says: “ They took up arms so that the kurdish nation is freed from this misery and oppression. After the nation’s liberation, they take no titles and positions because they are not worthy of such roles. And no one should never mix the armed struggle with governance.”
That’s why Martyr Mama Risha fought so that in the future our youths could govern the country and competent individuals could be appointed to worthy positions-not like what we see today where in almost every ministry, institution and government office the same mountain faces have been handed the seatsof power in the cities, and now their sons and grandsons have inherited them as well.
These families have ruled for more than three grnerations now! From grandfather to son and grandson – generation after generation they stay in power, and there is no telling how many more generations will come and still sit in those same authority seats.
This situation mustn’t continue. The capabilities, knowledge and qualifications of the young people of my country should no longer be ignored. Two families should not rule over the entire region forever!
That’s why I reiterate my stance; I will continue to struggle against this regime and the two families who in the name of the “mountain struggle “ have exploited the wealth and assets of this region!
