Today is not just an ordinary day regarding my land and homeland, which is the Kurdistan Region. It is a day that has become firmly established in the mind and consciousness of every compatriot of mine that an unimaginable historical betrayal has been committed by the Kurdistan Democratic Party by bringing the forces of Saddam Hussein’s dictatorial regime to power over the parliament, law, and sacred land of Kurdistan, against freedom and the voice of the brave.Since 1996, freedom and human rights have been completely destroyed by the aforementioned party, which continues to this day in memory of that betrayal by persistently eliminating free voices and activists. This historical event was only the beginning of the continuation of a policy of oppression and dictatorship that continues to this day.As an activist who escaped from under the authority of that party, today I freely convey the suppressed cry of my comrades and compatriots to the entire world and international organizations. The world must know that in the Kurdistan Region, a completely dictatorial authority rules – an authority that violates the fundamental rights of people and harshly suppresses any voice of dissent.From here, we reaffirm our commitment to continue exposing the crimes of the ruling parties of my country. That historical betrayal must not be forgotten, and we must not give up on advancing the struggle for freedom and justice. Today my cry goes out to all those who believe in human rights and freedom to support our actions through standing up for truth and justice.
