August 21st is Another August 31st

With the annual recurrence of a catastrophic and major treacherous event the pain and sorrow for our nation’s people brothers, compatriots, and fellow Kurdish citizens has not subsided, it remains a heavy burden on our hearts. Oh Kurd, a historical betrayal has been committed against our nation once more, and a part of our sun has set.

Regarding the approaching 29th anniversary of the betrayal committed by the undemocratic Kurdistan Democratic Party against its own citizens and people who speak its language.

On the other hand, on the night of August 21, 2025, in the city, the armed militia forces of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (Yekîetî Nîştîmanî) were involved in a disastrous event that resulted in numerous deaths, injuries, and disappearances. A catastrophe similar to August 31, 1996, whose perpetrators and hired mercenaries, like the traitors and perpetrators of 8/31, to this day, if caught, are called by names of disgrace.

After these events, what the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan did to the citizens of Sulaymaniyah put an end to all the illusions that many had, believing that this zone was one of democracy and freedom.

Therefore, I say with a loud voice:

August 21st is another August 31st.
