On September 11, 2025, the Dakok Organization organized a peaceful march in London, with the participation of members and supporters from across the community.
The demonstration was held to denounce the renewed sentencing of journalist Sherwan Sherwani and to call for the immediate release of all detained activists and journalists in the Kurdistan Region.
The march began in front of the Representation of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and concluded at the Embassy of Iraq in London. Throughout the event, participants raised their voices in solidarity, chanting slogans and demanding justice for Sherwan Sherwani and all others imprisoned for exercising their right to freedom of expression.

Dakok strongly condemned:
- Violations of press freedom
- The politicization of the judiciary in the Kurdistan Region
- Court rulings issued under the influence of political elites rather than principles of justice and law
Such practices not only silence critical voices but also erode democracy and human rights.
