Today in the Kurdistan Region, the KDP and PUK have turned the dream and blood of freedom into a nightmare. What was once a historic hope – a homeland built on blood and sacrifice – has been seized by two parasitic dynasties, Barzani and Talabani, who, like leeches on their own people, drink the blood of Kurdistan’s citizens to keep themselves alive.

In the era of Masoud, Nechirvan and Masrour Barzani on one side, and Bafel Talabani on the other, power is not a responsibility – it is a family business, driven by greed, protected by guns, and cemented layer upon layer with the blood of their own brothers. These people are not leaders. They are brother-killers, sacrificing their own people to protect their thrones.

At a time when families cannot afford food or rent, these bloodsuckers gamble with oil and salaries. For years, teachers, doctors and public servants have had their rights stolen because of the parties’ corruption and their endless, pointless fights with Baghdad. Human Rights Watch confirms what everyone already knows: 16 months of salaries have been stolen, and for dozens more months workers were paid only half. In 2025, countless employees are still without pay – while the Barzanis and Talabanis live like kings, pouring their stolen millions into propaganda and fake promises.

Politically, Kurdistan has been turned into a graveyard for democracy. The 2024 elections – delayed, rewritten and manipulated – were nothing more than theatre. Even now, the KDP and PUK are fighting over ministries and contracts while they choke the people in poverty. The KDP calls the PUK a mafia; the PUK calls the KDP a mafia. They are both telling the truth – because both of them are maggots feeding on the same rotting corpse.

On human rights, their hands drip with blood. Under KDP control, journalists like Sherwan Sherwani and Omed Baroshki have had their sentences extended again and again; through fabricated charges, their freedom has been stolen. International human rights organisations call this what it is: retaliation and revenge.

In the PUK zone, Bafel Talabani has turned Slemani into his private trench, using the so-called “anti-terror” units as hired killers against rivals and protesters. The violent campaign against supporters of Lahur Sheikh Jangi was not the implementation of law – it was fratricide. People were killed. Hundreds were arrested. Slemani became a city under siege by its own rulers.

These rulers talk about “protecting the Region” – but it is their own hands that are soaked in its blood. They are not defending Kurdistan; they are devouring its future.

Let me be clear:

Masrour Barzani, Nechirvan Barzani and the leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party are responsible for stealing salaries, imprisoning journalists and turning the courts into party tools where judges rule under their orders.

Bafel Talabani and the leadership of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan are responsible for using the security forces as a private army, waging war against their own people and ruling Slemani through fear and blood.

We demand:

The immediate release of all political prisoners and journalists.

Full transparency over every stolen barrel of oil and every dollar sent abroad.

Payment in full of all delayed salaries.

Disarming and dismantling all party militias.

Genuine, free elections organised by and for the people – not by the Barzani-Talabani mafia.

Kurdistan does not belong to these bloodsuckers.
It does not belong to the killers who drink the blood of their own nation.
It belongs to its people – and the people must feel this and say: enough. No more lies. No more bloodshed. No more family rule.
