Dakok’s Visit to Ty Enfys Residential Home in Cardiff

On 11/04/2025 , As part of its ongoing humanitarian and cultural activities, the Dakok Organization for Rights and Freedom conducted a meaningful visit to Ty Enfys Residential Home in the city of Cardiff. This initiative was carried out within the framework of Dakok’s core mission, which is deeply rooted in fostering cross-cultural understanding and promoting the values of compassion, dignity, and inclusivity.

The purpose of the visit was twofold. Firstly, it aimed to introduce and celebrate the rich heritage of Kurdish culture, including its traditional music, clothing, and dance. Secondly, the visit sought to bring joy and meaningful social interaction to the residents of the home, many of whom are elderly and often face social isolation.

This activity served as a bridge between communities, showcasing the beauty and depth of Kurdish traditions in an environment of mutual respect and cultural appreciation. It is important to highlight that one of Dakok’s main pillars is to raise awareness among the Kurdish community—both within the diaspora and locally—about the importance of cultural identity, active civic engagement, and solidarity with broader humanitarian causes.

The event was well-received, with residents and staff expressing their appreciation for the vibrant and heartfelt performance. The Kurdish music and dance, accompanied by traditional attire, added color and joy to the atmosphere, creating a memorable experience for all involved.

Dakok remains committed to fostering cultural awareness, promoting human rights, and encouraging peaceful coexistence. Through initiatives such as this, the organization continues to fulfill its responsibility as a civil society actor, advocating for the rights and dignity of all communities.
