In collaboration with Małîy Kurdanî Leeds (The Kurdish House in Leeds), the Dakok Support Center proudly organized the Kurdish Book Fair in the city of Leeds on April 26, 2025. This event marked another important step in Dakok’s ongoing efforts to promote Kurdish language, literature, and cultural identity across the United Kingdom.
Throughout the fair, a wide range of Kurdish-language books—spanning fiction, nonfiction, poetry, children’s literature, academic studies, and historical works—were exhibited, offering attendees a rich and diverse literary experience. The event attracted a significant number of community members, activists, and book enthusiasts from across Britain, highlighting the growing interest in Kurdish literature among the diaspora.

The fair also served as an important gathering point for fostering dialogue around the role of literature in cultural preservation and education. Participants praised the initiative as a vital opportunity to connect younger generations with their heritage and to encourage a deeper engagement with reading and intellectual life.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Dakok Support Center members and volunteers, the event was smoothly and professionally organized, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees. The successful execution of the fair in Leeds reflects Dakok’s commitment to continuing its cultural initiatives and expanding access to Kurdish books throughout the UK.
