Social Media and Propaganda Machines of the Barzani-Talabani Dictatorship

Malavan Rashid Hasan – Activist

From their inception until the present day, the media outlets and propaganda channels of the ruling Kurdish parties have served the corrupt interests of the Barzani and Talabani dynasties. These platforms exist solely to whitewash their crimes, conceal their atrocities, and justify their oppression against the innocent people of Kurdistan—through lies, assassinations, and systemic injustice.

However, no matter how much money they spend to hide the truth, we remain steadfast in exposing the brutal reality of this Kurdish dictatorship. We will continue to reveal the suffering of our people in Iraq and Kurdistan, even from exile in free nations like Britain, a country built on the rule of law, justice, and human dignity.

In stark contrast, the land where I was born is ruled by a dictatorship of political parties that torture, kill, and suppress anyone who dares to hold a different opinion. These authoritarian regimes waste unimaginable sums of money on propaganda channels and social media bots instead of spending it on the people—on hospitals, schools, and the basic needs of our impoverished society. This reflects the reality that Kurdistan’s leaders have never listened to their own citizens.

The dictatorship in Kurdistan not only engages in inhumane behaviour against its own people but also targets activists, journalists, and freedom fighters simply for posting about human rights and freedom on social media. They are immediately branded as “traitors” or “enemies of the state,” subjected to defamation, arrests, and even torture under the fascist rule of the KRG-Iraq.

We will never retreat from demanding our most basic rights—freedom of expression. We will persist until we achieve justice, dismantle the artificial barriers imposed by this  fascist, dynastic dictatorship, and reclaim our stolen dignity.

Freedom + Equality + Protection + Justice = Our Fundamental Rights
